I'm just waiting for you to fall...

Here is a video of Ciaran pulling himself up to stand. It's a longer video then I usually post, but it's worth watching the whole thing.

Earth Day

Today was Earth Day and Ciaran's class went to the farm. We got to see the animals, ride a tractor, and pick strawberries. It was a lot of fun!

Potty Time!

We have started to introduce the potty to Ciaran. We started at 6 months bringing him into the bathroom after he wakes up from a nap and seeing if he needed to go. Sometimes he did sometimes he didn't. We then got him his own little potty to sit on. We give him a book or a toy and sing songs. He loves it and often uses it.

We obviously don't expect him to be fully potty trained anywhere in the near future, but we thing that by introducing the potty to him early he will see it as just part of his daily routine and not something scary or overwhelming. Plus, anything we catch in the potty, is one less diaper we have to change and wash!

Crawling

Swim Time!

Ciaran tried the pool for the first time. He just put his feet in this time, but we have a few swimsuits and a baby floaty ready for him to go all in. We are just waiting for the weather to be perfect.

He seemed to like it. It's basically just a big bathtub, so what's not to like?

7 Months

Ciaran turned 7 months old today. He is really seeming like a little boy more then a baby now.

He loves eating. So far he has had: rice cereal, oatmeal, apples, carrots, bananas, sweet potatoes, avocado, and pears. He likes everything except avocado. All the big people food has really started to fill him out. He is still a peanut, just a bigger peanut now! Speaking of nuts, we have figured out that he is for sure allergic to nuts. I tried to add nuts back into my diet by eating some almonds and he had a major reaction. So it's still no diary, eggs, or nuts for me. But we are back on soy, which means back to vegan!!

Also, he is constantly babbling. He makes his new growling sound, and we call him "monster baby." It's a pretty funny sound by itself, but without fail it gets the whole family growling like monsters and laughing our heads off. I hope to catch it on video soon!

And he is starting to master crawling. In the past couple of days he has really taken off and can get anywhere he wants. It is obviously hard work for him and he usually groans and whines while he is doing it, but I can tell he is happy to be moving! We have to hurry and babyproof the house, this kid is going to be into everything.

Apples and Bananas

I tried to catch a picture of Ciaran's "banana face":

I think his "apple face" may beat the "banana face" now:
