Auntie Janelle, Uncle Josh, and cousins Isaiah and Milo visited this weekend.

We went to the Corvallis Fall Festival

We have no pictures of Janelle because whenever she comes to visit we fail at taking pictures. I guess we are always just having too much fun!

Supermarket Meltdown

Today was Ciaran's first trip to the Supermarket. I don't think he liked it much. We should have gotten the hint when he majorly pooped in the car on the way there. We had to change his diaper and his outfit in the parking lot. Once we got that taken care of Andrew put him in the Beco carrier and he did fine for awhile, until he didn't. Then Andrew switched him to the stroller and he did fine, until he didn't. I ended up taking him outside while Andrew checked out. It was a lot to take in for such a little guy, I'm sure next week will be better.

Daddy to the Rescue

Ciaran had a rough day today. He was a little fussy and would not fall asleep. Andrew had been trying to "Happiest Baby on the Block" methods that worked so well in the hospital to no avail. He watched the video again and made some minor adjustments. He had Ciaran sleeping soundly in a matter of minutes!! Yay for Daddy and "Happiest Baby on the Block"!

Bye Bye Grandma and Auntie Rachael

Today was the last day of Auntie Rachael and Grandma's visits. Ciaran was a little fussy in the morning but went to sleep around noon and slept through lunch and well into the afternoon. That was about it.

Bye Bye Bernaths

Today we went out to breakfast with Uncle Jimmy, Aunt Holly, and Emily before they left to go back home. Ciaran slept through the whole thing.

Later today the home health nurse came to visit to make sure Ciaran and mom were doing ok. They are! Ciaran now weighs 6 pounds, 11 oz. That is up from the 6 pounds, 1 oz he was when he left the hospital. She said babies usually gain about an oz a day and it can take up to two weeks to pass their birth weight. He passed it in 5 days. Eireann's been calling him "fatty" ever since.

The nurse took off his diaper to weigh him and while he was on the scale he decided it would be a great time to pee. He had quite the fountain going and the nurse was just standing
their holding the diaper. Finally she decided she could use the diaper to control the flow. He was covered in pee as was the scale and the floor. You would think a professional baby nurse would instinctively try to stop the cascade and not let it get everywhere. Oh well, it was pretty hilarious.

Another Surprise

We went to the pediatrician today to check on Ciaran's jaundice. They had to do a heel prick, but he handled it like a champ. He was up to 6 pounds, 4 oz. That's 3 oz gained in one day. Way to go!!!

Later that evening Uncle Jimmy, Aunt Holly and Emily came in from Weaverville. They brought along a surprise of their own: Rachael!
